Would the above approach work fast when there are say 100,000 records in the database? Would it not be better to have a [unique_constraint: (book_id, status:1) field in the records table indicating the active (or most recent row per book_id) and not to look for it by max(id). PostgreSQL Select Statement in SQL Shell Step 1) We have a table tutorials with 2 columns id and tutorialname. In the student table we are interested to know how many class records. I have learned much about SQL and Ecto with this, yet at the same time I come to question the design of my tables. DISTINCT command in SQL collects the unique or distinct records from a field of a table. Where: books.institute_id = ^claims,īut your code looks nicer and possibly faster than the above. Join: records in subquery(records_max_id_query), PostgreSQL Distinct Clause eliminates duplicate rows from the select query result set. In the meantime, I had written a working code, like this: records_max_id_query = # started with the records table first. Despite that I did not express clearly what I was trying to achieve, you have grasped it and provided the needed solution. PostgreSQL GROUP Words cannot express how grateful I am to you. Inside a table, a column often contains many duplicate values and sometimes you only want to list the different (distinct) values. INSERT INTO "books" ("title") VALUES ($1),($2),($3),($4) The SELECT DISTINCT statement is used to return only distinct (different) values. While electrophysiological recordings indicate the involvement of AC in nearly all auditory behaviours, from representing basic acoustic properties to associative learning, the results of silencing studies vary greatly. Later on, most investigations of AC function became centred on recording cortical activity associated with specific stimuli and behaviours, shifting the focus to correlational studies of neuronal activity and sensory stimuli. Initially, the leading method of studying its function was through lesioning different areas of AC in animal models and observing the resulting impairments, with the aim of identifying behaviours for which AC is necessary. Since the location of auditory cortex (AC) in the primate brain was first characterised in 1875, researchers have been attempting to understand its role in auditory behaviours. Challenges in defining auditory cortex function I think some of these resorts make it difficult to book to discourage people from going to the a la carte restaurants. Both restaurants had lots of empty tables and were nowhere near full though. By doing that they finally added us to the bottom of a “full” list for the Mexican. She then talked to someone at the buffet restaurant the next day who told her to go to the Mexican restaurant at 4pm to book it. The first time my wife dialed zero as the instructions said, someone who barely spoke English answered and didn’t understand what she wanted and eventually cut her off before being able to book. The instruction sheet given to us when we checked in, said to book at the buffet restaurant during breakfast for the Mexican restaurant and dial 0 for the Italian restaurant “during the day”. While someone else the next day told my wife to call after 5pm. When we checked in the girl said to book before 5pm and that we were too late for the next day. One thing I did find annoying though was how difficult it was to book the a la carte restaurants. An appetizer and a main didn’t leave room for a desert. The portions at the Mexican restaurant were pretty big. But my wife thought the A la cartes were better. I thought the buffet was on par with the A La cartes. It was nice to sit and be served for a change. We tried both the a la carte restaurants. None of us had any problems in that respect. I saw reviews complaining about getting sick. If you are less picky than an eight year old, you should be able to find enough that you like to keep you from starving. But they enjoyed the ice cream, M&Ms, pastries and other deserts. But because it was different from what we have ay home, our kids wouldn’t eat it. In my opinion the food was ok, but not spectacular. If you have a lot to plug in, bring a (two pronged) power bar. There weren’t a lot of power plugs in the room. We weren’t really too worried about someone hauling our safe away though. As someone else mentioned the safe wasn’t secured very well. But the kitchen sink had a definite whiff of sewage stink coming out of it. All three drains in the bathroom were fine. One big failing grade I will give the room was the sort of kitchen sink just as you enter the room. You can often smell the same smell the minute you step off the plane and onto the bridge at the airport. We’ve experienced this in the Caribbean many times before. Ours was slightly musty, but not too bad. I also saw many complaints about the rooms being musty. I’ve been in fancier hotels with better shower heads that had half the flow of this one, so based on that, I will give the shower a 10/10. I saw a review complaining about the shower head that made me laugh. My suggestion for a shower or bath is to run the cold fully and control the temperature with the hot. In fact, there wasn’t enough cold water to control the hot water. Everything in the bathroom worked properly and there was plenty of hot water. As many have already mentioned, the room was very dated. Unlike most resorts we’ve been to, they want it back at the end. The check in was relatively quick and easy. This was our first time vacationing in Mexico after staying at many different comparable resorts in Cuba and the Dominican Republic. My wife and I vacationed with our two kids at the Samba Vallarta in March. It was a decade full of incredible comedies, and while “Friends,” “Frasier” and “Seinfeld,” three of the most iconic and influential ’90s sitcoms, would have been too obvious and not fit tonally with the episode, there were a lot of options to choose from here. And while “Malcolm in the Middle” was a beloved comedy series, there might have been better ’90s sitcoms to choose from. But the fact remains that these credits are out of time, if you will. 31, 1999, and everything changed drastically on Jan. A scrapped post-credits scene in Avengers: Endgame wouldve set up one of WandaVision episode 4s most shocking Vision scenes. Now, you can argue that in terms of pop culture Jan. 9, 2000 - but technically that makes it a different decade, and we care a lot about dates around here. Yes, it was barely 2000 - the series premiered Jan. ET.It’s not that the opening credits to the series’ sixth episode are bad, per se, it’s that the episode is supposed to be paying homage to the sitcoms of the ’90s, but the TV show that the theme and the episode both pull the most from-” Malcolm in the Middle ”-actually premiered in 2000. WandaVision adds a new episode on Disney+ every Friday at 12:00 a.m. If Pietro is a mindless drone working for Agatha, he had to come from somewhere, right? Could Agatha have plucked Peter Maximoff from the X-Men universe and simply redesigned him for WandaVision, setting up the MCU’s journey into the multiverse? And if so, perhaps Wanda’s attack on him last week freed his mind from Agatha’s control, reminding him who he really is. Last week’s episode began to make it look like he was the original Pietro with a new face but now we know that’s unlikely. We’re all assuming that he could attempt to bring Monica to Agatha for snooping, but what if the “snoopers gonna snoop” was, in fact, a reference to both of them? Could he be investigating things too? However, if Agatha is actually the villainous mastermind behind everything and Mephisto isn’t the villain, then that could clear Pietro’s name – so to speak. What are the WandaVision finale post-credits scenes and how do they set up Doctor Strange 2 and. Agatha Harkness) – who was responsible for bringing him to Westview. After the witch revealed that she was behind all of the madness taking place in the town, the show’s fancy “It was Agatha all along” closing/opening credits sequence revealed that she sent him there to cause some more chaos.ĭoes that make Pietro a villain? In theory, yes, but maybe not in the way you think. Whats the new post-credits scene At the end of the nine episodes of WandaVision, Wanda goes into hiding, holing up in a cabin where she studies the Darkhold, aka a magical textbook. It appears that Pietro really is under the tutelage of Agnes (a.k.a. Is Pietro the villain of WandaVision in the mid-credits scene? Upon finding the supernatural vines coming out of the cellar, she was confronted by Evan Peters’ Pietro Maximoff – who told her that “snoopers gonna snoop”. Upon following Wanda and Agnes to the latter’s house, Monica Rambeau – who had now become the hero known as Spectrum – investigated the grounds. Admittedly, I did want a little more revealed come the end of the episode but in retrospect Im happy theyre not rushing with the details as the payoffs will. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is renowned for the mid and post-credit scenes as they usually expand the universe, setting up future events. And one of them came in the post/mid-credit scene. The latest episode, “Breaking The Fourth Wall”, was further proof of that as it contained some of the show’s most jaw-dropping moments yet. The Disney Plus show has played the long game since it arrived but now, with the finale in sight, things are moving at a more urgent pace – ensuring that the wait was worthwhile. WandaVision is really turning up the heat as it heads towards its season finale. WandaVision returned to Disney Plus and it brought back the mid-credit scenes that the MCU are notorious for. The term "blackball" is used in this glossary to refer to both blackball and eight-ball pool as played in the UK, as a shorthand. Similarly, British terms predominate in the world of snooker, English billiards, and blackball, regardless of the players' nationalities. However, due to the predominance of US-originating terminology in most internationally competitive pool (as opposed to snooker), US terms are also common in the pool context in other countries in which English is at least a minority language, and US (and borrowed French) terms predominate in carom billiards. In “Her,” the new film by Spike Jonze, we’re taken, as Jonze has described it, to the “slight future”-a world just at the change point when artificial intelligence has become capable of interacting with humans more or less seamlessly. Since 2011, Apple’s Siri has hummed quietly inside hundreds of millions of phones and tablets, equipped to listen, speak, and act based on a user’s request. But ever more sophisticated programs in the Eliza mold-now widely known as “chatbots”-proliferate, mimicking human dialogue in chat rooms, corporate customer-service interfaces, and through e-mail, for purposes ranging from commerce to amusement to fraud. A program that can converse so fluently that people can’t tell it’s a program is said to pass the Turing Test, a nod to Alan Turing, the British code-breaker and computing visionary who, in 1950, predicted that by the twenty-first century we would reach a point at which we would “speak of machines thinking without expecting to be contradicted.” The consensus, to this point, is that the Turing Test has yet to be passed. The idea that people might be unable to distinguish a conversation with a person from a conversation with a machine is rooted in the earliest days of artificial-intelligence research. After only a few interchanges with it, she asked me to leave the room.” He continued, “What I had not realized is that extremely short exposures to a relatively simple computer program could induce powerful delusional thinking in quite normal people.” “Once my secretary, who had watched me work on the program for many months and therefore surely knew it to be merely a computer program, started conversing with it. “I was startled to see how quickly and how very deeply people conversing with DOCTOR became emotionally involved with the computer and how unequivocally they anthropomorphized it,” he wrote. Yet Weizenbaum was more concerned with how users seemed to form an emotional relationship with the program, which consisted of nothing more than a few hundred lines of code. Eliza was a milestone in computer understanding of natural language. Piracy & Illegal Content - Illegal content of any kind is prohibited. (This guide is a work in progress and is intended to be maintained and updated. In Finder you may hold down the Option key while in the Go dropdown to easily locate it.) It can be found here /Users/YOURUSERNAME/Library/Preferences/jp. (Note that in OS X 10.7 "Lion" and later your Library folder is hidden. It makes for fast and convenient switching for all your needs. Underneath those settings you may want to save preconfigured profiles for, say, your MP3 V0 transcodes or AAC at iTunes Plus settings. For example: you may want to save your rip settings as "FLAC" in your profile manager. (See the first illustration.) Saving profiles is especially useful for saving transcoding configuration settings. To set up profiles find the "Profile" dropdown in the XLD menu bar at the top right. Now that you've properly (IMO) configured XLD you can save your settings and set up profiles. You will only be adding useful information to your logs so I highly recommend it. This is used to help differentiate the different pressings of discs. XLD will include peak level information in the ripping log. ReplayGain should be enabled here whether you use it or not. (I've never had a drive go kaputt on me before I moved on to another but YMMV.) No argument from me and your rips will take about half as long if the disc is in the AR db. Checking the latter option could save some wear & tear on your drive. I enable and recommend Test before copy (as illustrated below.) You may alternatively choose to check "only when the track does not exist in AR database." One could effectively and fairly argue that my method is a bit redundant and overkill.Verify suspicious sectors should absolutely be checked.Do not check the "Treat AccurateRip mismatch as an inconsistency in log" box.See Accuraterip's website for more information. If your drive's read offset is correct, then XLD will try to search the AccurateRip database to verify the integrity of your rip by comparing it to the rips of other people.Normally XLD can find your drive's offset, so this step is most often unnecessary. Matshita brand drives (commonly used by Apple and found in MacBook Pros) are listed as Panasonic in the AR database. Alternatively you can look up your drive in the AccurateRip drive offset database. Click the black triangle next to the field to display your drive(s). Do not just set your Read samples offset correction value to mine in the below illustration! XLD should be able to read your drive's Read sample offset correction value automatically."Use C2 Error Pointers…" If your drive supports them, secure ripping will be a lot faster with this enabled.Set Ripper Mode to "XLD Secure Ripper" as this is optimal and preferable over CD Paranoia IMHO and IME.Optionally, check the Automatically split file with embedded cue sheet box to suit your personal preferences.Check the Preserve directory structures box.I also recommend xACT another useful free utility that can be found at MacUpdate or at the Developer's Website. For example: once configured you can drag an entire main folder onto the XLD icon and it will batch convert the folders. This is pretty much optional but very useful for converting a nested directory. Forward slashes (i.e., / ) will be translated to new folders: You can choose from the following options. …which will add the track artist to each name. For example you may want to change the file naming scheme for compilations like so: Again, feel free to adapt and make changes that conform to your own standards. Optionally: You may prefer other file naming schemes. Within minutes, your group of opted-in recipients will receive your message wherever they are, whatever they are doing.
